Good thing Governor George Clinton of New York is not there with Hancock and Henry (or Ethan Allen of the unofficial "Green Mountain" Republic of Vermont, for that matter). Clinton felt New York would outstrip the other states, and treated everyone else accordingly. His nephew DeWitt (by building the Erie Canal thirty years later) would partly make that true.

If you go to the Library of Congress, his is the only one that's still readable on the original Declaration. XD
